2001 Fairwater Heritage Days Special Cancellation
Set of four postcards (one of each scene) with stamp and special postal cancellation. Ten Dollars.

The first Fairwater Heritage Days was August 4-5, 2001. As part of the event, the Fairwater Post Office issued a special cancellation stamp for the "Fairwater Historical Society Station," with an image of Fairwater's waterwheel. We saved 16 sets of cards with the special cancellation, to be sold as a fund-raiser.
Ten dollars for the set of four cards each with 21 cent stamp and special cancellation.

2001 Heritage Days PinThe Heritage Days pin was created for the 2001 celebration. It reproduces the special Fairwater Historical Society Station postal cancellation stamp representing the Fairwater water wheel in black, brown, and blue. Approximate size is 1.75" x 2.75". Remaining pins are being sold as a fund-raiser.

Curlew:Home: Essays & a Journey Back by Tom Montag
One Copy for Fifteen Dollars and Ninety-Five Cents

"Curlew:Home" is the newest book by Fairwater resident and Historical Society Curlew:Home by Tom Montag board member Tom Montag. Montag is a noted Wisconsin poet and essayist. His poem "Lecturing My Daughter in Her First Fall Rain" is permanently incorporated into the design of Milwaukee's Midwest Express Convention Center. "Curlew: Home" is a middle western farm memoir, recording Montag's years growing up on an Iowa farm during the 1950s and including an account of a trip back to Curlew taken in October, 2000. Wisconsin author Dave Engel says of Montag's book: "Just what I've attempted with my home town, he has succeeded with Curlew and its environs, Iowa. Bless Tom Montag for the grace and depth with which he has brought the ether of his perceptive young life down to our earth." 5" x 7.75". 328 pages. Middle Ground by Tom Montag

"Middle Ground" collects Tom Montag's poems up to the start of his Ben Zen series. Includes his long-poem "Making Hay" as well as selections from "Letters Home" (drawn from the Civil War letters of George Cadman, his wife's great-great grandfather), "This Gathering Season," "When the Sun Goes Down," and "Married To Prairie." 5.5"x8.5". 200 pages. Montag has been a resident of Fairwater since 1976 and is a member of the Fairwater Historical Society.
