[DR. SHEPARD STARTS SUIT]
Brandon Times, April 11, 1873

   Dr. Shepard has commenced a suit against Justice Robinson and Marshal Efuer, for $5000 damages, on account of his arrest and sentence to the Fond du Lac jail for drunkness [sic]. The city council of Ripon have passed a resolution sustaining their officers, and propose to contest the matter. We hardly believe that the amount realized from the suit will make anybody very rich.
