   Brandon's shortsightedness in now allowing the Alto Telephone Co. to enter the village and extending a hearty welcome, to-boot; shows that the managers of her affairs are content to live in the dark ages of the past. If Brandon continues to welcome public enterprises like she has the Alto Co. she may wake up some morning and find herself on the verge of a village grave-yard, and all that will be necessary will be to build a fence around the spot where the lively village once stood.
