[DEACON HOGBIN DIES] Dea. John Hogbin, an old and respected resident of the Fairwater neighborhood, died very suddenly on Friday morning last. He was in his usual health the day befor[e] and worked all day drawing cornstocks. Only a few days ago he was in the village seemingly as hale and vigorous as ever, and his many friends and acquaintances can hardly realize that he has so soon passed to his reward. Dea. Hogbin was a member of the Fairwater Free Will Baptist church, one of those plain, unpretentious christian men, whose sterling worth is only realized after they pass away. Truly a good man has gone home to his reward. |
