[Rev. Hewes Gives Sermon]

   Rev. J. P. Hewes, of Fairwater, preached an able sermon at the Congregational church, on Sunday evening, on the Sabbath question. There is danger, as he said, of our drifting into the continental idea of Sunday being a holiday, and of our country losing much of the old Puritan type of character that has made it what it is. It is time the christian public gave this matter serious consideration in view of the tendencies of the times.

   It is reported that Rev. J. P. Hewes will leave Fairwater next fall, when that community will be ministerless.
