1911 Fairwater Scenes: Jimtown

Closeup view of the 1911 Fairwater Scenes post card. This scene
pictures the business district
in Jimtown looking north. At far right is the meat market. North of it are the
hotel block and beyond
it the grain elevator. Centered in the picture north of the elevator is the tower
of the Free Baptist
church constructed in 1904. Shown on the left is the only known photo of the
boardwalk on the
west side of Main Street. Village Board records indicate that the street was not
paved until 1925.
