Born's Hardware

Born's Hardware, located between Frei's store and the Stellmacher lumberyard in the "Tinkham Block", was a fixture in downtown Jim Town. As the undated photo illustrates, its shelves were amply stocked. Originally established by H. H. Born early in the century, the store was owned and operated by sons Ralph and Milton Born during the last half of the 1940's. Pictured in the photograph is Ralph Born, who assumed complete ownership of the business around 1950.
