Frei's Grocery and General Store, ca. 1921-1930

Louie W. Frei's Grocery and General Store on Main Street, downtown Jim Town. The store was originally located on the east side of the street, in the hotel block. In 1920-21, the store was moved across the street into new quarters. The top photo, undated, shows the front of the new building adjacent to the Fairwater Bank. The middle photo.pictures Louie Frei and Anna Lenz in the new store. The placard at the front left in that photo advertises the Harvest Dance on Tuesday, August 9, at Laper's Pavilion and dates the picture as 1921, the year the pavilion was erected. The bottom photo, dated in the mid-1930's, pictures Anna Lenz, Irene Lenz, and Louis Frei.
