Lover's Lane, Main Street Jim Town, ca. 1910

Lover's Lane, 1910 (21,834 bytes)

A bower of trees arched over the Grand River bridge early in the history of "Jim Town,"  prompting residents to refer to that stretch of Main Street as Fairwater's Lover's Lane. The "lane" is illustrated above in a picture stamp dated between 1910 and 1920, looking up Main Street from downtown Fairwater. The home pictured to the left was constructed by C. S. Griffith in 1904.
