AUTOS ENTITLED
TO HALF OF ROAD
TEAMS SHOULD ALWAYS TURN
TO THE RIGHT
The auto season is again here and it is
well for horse owners to remember that the auto driver has the same rights to the highway
as any other person. Another thing which should always be remembered is that when you meet
an auto or if one is passing you from behind, the rule of the road to turn to the right.
Many accidents are caused by ignorance of this rule, the team often turning out to the
left side of the road, with the result that before the auto can be stopped there is a
collision. Always pull your right line whether meeting an auto or to let one pass you from
the rear.
The following extracts from the automobile laws of the state should be read:

or persons shall give a signal or sign of danger or distress or call for assistance upon a
person lawfully operating any such automobile or other similar motor vehicle on public
highway without a reasonable cause for so doing.
