 CALLED TO HIS LAST REST
FREDERICK A. BUETTNER PASSED AWAY LAST SATURDAY

Another of our old settlers was called to his eternal reward last Saturday morning, when Frederick A. Buettner answered the final summons.
Death came at 8 o'clock at his old homestead in the town of Auburn, 3 [?] miles southeast of the village.
Mr. Buettner was born in Brandenburg, Germany, on April 2, 1842 and was therefore in his sixty-eighth year. At the age of thirteen he emigrated to America and has since lived under the Stars and Stripes. On November 8, 1857, he was married to Henrietta Fuerhammer and lived for awhile after in Dodge county, but soon moved to the town of Auburn where he engaged in farming and has since made his home, living an honorable, upright life.
Seven children are left to mourn him: they are Charles, Louis, Henry, Albert, William, Robert and Mrs. Annie Tuttle; also fourteen grandchildren. His wife proceeded him four years ago.
His death was a surprise to many of his friends in the village, as he had only been sick about two weeks with pneumonia.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock from the family home and to the German Reform church in the village. Rev. Wm. Landseidel officiating.

Nick Fell, the second oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fell, died at the home of his parents in the town of Ashford, last Sunday morning at 9 o'clock. The young man had only been sick eleven days with inflamation of the bowels and his demise was a great shock to his many friends. He was sixteen years of age and possessed of a kind and cheerful disposition, which endeared him to all whom he met.
He is survived by his parents, one sister, Lucy and two brothers, Frank and John. The funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Martin's church in Ashford with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. T. Toeller performed the last sad rites. To the bereaved family we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
