BIG CELEBRATION
ON JULY 5

CAMPBELLSPORT WILL CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY--PROGRAM OUTLINED

Did you read the big posters? If not, why not? But let that be as it may, read the big colored posters and see what is going to be doing in Campbellsport on Monday, July 5th.
A number of the merchants have "chipped in" and at present a fund, large enough to allow the committees to proceed with the arrangements, is in the hands of Byron H. Glass, treasurer of the Independence Day celebration committee.
The program for the day, although not completed in all the minor details, is outlined as follows: A big industrial parade in the morning at ten o'clock will be followed by a concert by Hoffman's Band. Prizes of $5.00, $3.00 and $2.00 will be given respectively to the first, second and third best float in the industrial parade. The afternoon will be given over to a carnival of fun, including races by fat men, lean men, fat girls, lean girls, old men and a hundred yard dash by a number of local sprinters. There will be wheelbarrow races, three legged races, sack races, catching the greased pig and a water fight. Prizes will be awarded in every contest. The afternoon program will conclude with a auto exhibit parade. Many decorated automobiles are expected to be in this parade and a prize of $5.00 will be given to the owner of the auto making best appearance, $3.00 for second best and $2.00 for third best decoration on autos in the parade.
In the evening a spectacular fire run is scheduled by members of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire department. During the fire run the streets will be illuminated by colored lights and at the end of the run, the boys of the department will give an exhibition of rapid work with the chemical engine.
The celebration will conclude with a grand dance at the New Opera house, at which Schmitz's Famous Harp orchestra of Fond du Lac will furnish the music.
