PIONEER RESIDENT OF TOWN ASHFORD DIES AT HIS HOME LAST THURSDAY

   Robert Denz, a pioneer and esteemed resident of the town of Ashford, died at his home, near the village of Elmore, at ten o'clock last Thursday evening, after being ill with cancer of the stomach for several monthf.
   Mr. Denz was born in Baden, Germany, November 21, 1836, and when nine years old he came with his parents to America, spending some time at Buffalo, N. Y., and a short time in Ohio. The family moved to Ashford in 1846, and since then Mr. Denz has resided on the old homestead, near the village of Elmore.
  
He was a man with a congenial disposition, and numbered many close friends among his host of acquaintances.
   Mr. Denz is survived by his widow, one son William Denz of Kendall, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Kaehne of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Louisa Tunn of this city, also leaves a sister Mrs. Mary Mott, of Boone, Iowa.
