DEATH OF A PIONEER SETTLER
MRS. CAROLINE DIERINGER PASSES AWAY AT HER4 HOME
WEDNESDAY MORNING
Mrs. Caroline Dieringer, aged 79, wife
of the late Sigmund Dieringer, died at her home about one-half mile southeast of the
village, at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, after an illness of a year's duration.
The deceased was born in Ohio on February 26, 1839, and come to this country
with her husband about fifty-five years ago, settling on the old homestead where she has
resided until the final summons came. Mrs. Dieringer was one of our most highly respected
women and during her long residents here has made a host of friends.
She is survived by two sons and four daughters: Val. Dieringer of Gillett,
Wis., and Henry residing in the town of Ashford. The daughters are Mrs. Joseph Haug of
Kewaskum, Mrs. Henry Leibel and Mrs. James Murray of this village and Miss Lena Dieringer
at home.
The funeral will be held next Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from St.
Matthew's church, Rev. Norbert Dieringer of Milwaukee and Rev. Bernard Dieringer of St.
Francis, nephews of the deceased, will assist Rev. Father July at the funeral services.
Interment will take place in Union cemetery.
The pall bearers will be August Treibea, Jacob Johann, Nick Hahn, Frank
Gremminger, George Straub, and Jacob Ferber. |
