TO LOOK AFTER DISCHARGED MEN
COMMITTEE APPOINTED IN THIS VILLAGE BY U. S. DEPT OF LABOR

  B. F. Williams of Madison, superintendent of the United States Free Employment and Information Bureau, with headquarters at Fond du Lac for the Sixth Congressional district, was in the village Monday morning and appointed a committee consisting of T. N. Curran, J. H. Kleinhans, P. M. Schlaefer, F. M. Martin and W. J. Sullivan to assist with the work in this vicinity. The committee met at the postoffice Monday noon and elected T. N. Curran chairman and W. J. Sullivan secretary.
The object of the United States Employment Bureau is to find employment and look after the general welfare of the returning soldiers and sailors. Headquarters have been opened on the first floor of the Lange block, corner First and Macy street in Fond du Lac, were the reports of soldiers and sailors about to be discharged from service are received. Those in this district are looked up by the committee and assisted in finding employment, besides being made to feel at home where they can find writing material, etc., and be given all necessary information about former friends or persons they wish to look up.
For the village of Campbellsport district headquarters have been established at the postoffice, where all returning soldiers and sailors are invited to call and receive what information they wish. If they are in search of employment, a job will be procured for them. In case there are no jobs available in this vicinity the name and address of the soldier will be reported to the Fond du Lac headquarters where employment will be found at once for the applicant.
Farmers or others, who are in need of help would confer a favor by notifying one of the above committee.
