DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER
J. W. DREIKOSEN DIES SATURDAY AT HIS HOME IN TOWN ASHFORD

  John William Dreikosen, a pioneer resident of the town of Ashford, died at his home there at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, following an illness with dropsy of several months duration.
   Mr. Dreikosen was born at Cologue, Germany, January 9, 1843. He came to America in 1872 and was married at Fond du Lac to Miss Petronellia Esser, also born at Cologue, Germany. She died February 25, 1913.
   The deceased is survived by five sons and six daughters. They are William, of Ashford, Mrs. Nicholas Zehren, of Ashland; Peter, of Elmore; Mrs. Peter Hilbert, Ashford; Mrs. Cecilia Schultz, Lomira; John, of Marathon City; Anthony, of Ashford; Mrs. John Ketlinger, Lomira; Michael of Wauwatosa; and Mrs. J. J. Fleming of Wyasena. A. J. Hilbert of this village is a grandson of the deceased.
   The funeral services were held Tuesday morning at ten o'clock from St. Martin's Catholic church at Ashford. Rev. Theodore Toeller, pastor of the parish, and Rev. Peter Theisen and Rev. A. Rossbach of Lomira, conducted the services. Interment took place in the adjoining cemetery.
   Mrs. Frank Becker, Mrs. Elizabeth Hall, Mrs. Stephen Bonesha, Miss Mary Haesaly, L. C. Kobler, Mike Thaden, J. H. Kleinhans and A. J. Hilbert of this city attended the funeral services.
