TWENTY-FOUR HOUR ELECTRIC
SERVICE
Electric Light Company turns on the Current from
the Mayville Plant Tuesday Evening
Campbellsport now has continued electric
light service. The new line from Lomira to Campbellsport, connecting this village with
Mayville, for the first time carried the current Tuesday evening.
A few minor details had to be adjusted and the power was shut off Wednesday
morning to give the linemen a chance to make these changes. The power was again turned on
during the afternoon of Wednesday and continual current is now being furnished.
The lights are bright and steady, and many electric fans are buzzing in
private homes and local business places today, indicating the warm welcome extended the
twenty-four electric service.
The company had considerable trouble to complete this line, especially in
securing wire. In the first place they were unable to get any copper wire whatsoever, and
in substituting steel they had to use a special coil wire, which required more than double
the work that is required in stringing copper.
Henry Braun, who had charge of the local electric plant, will remain here to
have charge of the company's business in this vicinity.
A storage battery charger has been installed in the John A. Pesch & Son's
garage, where batteries may be left to be recharged. They also sell or exchange Gould
batteries.
Mr. Braun will give any desired information in regard to electric appliances,
including motors, fans, flat irons, ranges, etc.
