News, April 28, 1910 William Klein was probably fatally injured and two others seriously hurt in a dynamite explosion which occurred Monday morning at Klein's home near New Fane. Klein had placed some dynamite in the oven of the kitchen stove to dry it out and was just opening the oven door to remove it when it exploded. Klein's face was literally blown to pieces, both eyes being blown out and he was also terribly injured otherwise. Miss Theresa Schultz, daughter of Peter Schultz, who also lives on the Klein place, was blown through the door of the building, while her brother was blown through a window by the force of the explosion. Both were injured although not seriously. |
