MARTIN FLEISCHMANN DIES AT HIS
HOME HERE THURSDAY EVENING

   John Martin Fleischmann, a pioneer resident of the town of Ashford, died at his home, on Fond du Lac avenue, at 9:30 o'clock, last Thursday evening.
   Mr. Fleischmann had been in ill health for a number of years, but was able to be about until three months ago, when he became seriously ill, and was confined to his bed until the time of his death.
   Deceased was born in Germany, April 28, 1839, came to America in his early youth, and braved the hardships of pioneer life until he was rewarded with one of the finest farms in the township.
   In October 1863 he was united in marriage to Katherine Schneller, who died the following may. On January 7th, 1865, he was married to Anna Klecker who survives him.
   Mr. Fleischmann exemplified, by his honorable life, the teachings of the golden rule, and unfailingly winced a practical piety that will be long remembered.
   Besides a devoted wife, he leaves to mourn his demise, two sons, Charles and Frank Fleischmann; three daughters, Mrs. Math Thal [?], Mrs. Adolph Ullrich and Mrs. Kate Theisen, the latter residing in this village and the other children reside on farms in the immediate vicinity; also three sisters, Mrs. William Hausman, Miss Elizabeth Fleischmann and Mrs. Phillipina Andrea, all of Kewaskum. He is also survived by fifteen grand-children.
   TThe funeral services were held Monday at ten o'clock, from St. Mathew's Catholic church, the Rev. Father July officiating. The remains were interred in the Union cemetery.
   The following relatives from out-of-town attended the funeral services.
   Dr. and Mrs. Carl Hausmann, Mrs. William Hausman, Mrs. Fred Andrae, Sr., and Mrs. Fred Andrae, Jr., Byron Rosenheimer, Mr. and Mrs. Math Beisbier, all of Kewaskum.
