FIFTEEN DAYS IN JAIL
John Lalbeech, a traveling gentleman?
was sentenced to fifteen days in the county jail in Judge H. J. Paas' court last Monday,
and was taken to Fond du Lac by Marshall Schaefer on the same day.
The sentence imposed on Lalbeech resulted from the fact that he attempted to
board a south bound train on December 12th, after having had meals and lodging at the
Northwestern hotel without paying his bill. He was followed to the depot by Jos. Bauer,
proprietor of the Northwestern hotel, and when Lalbeech attempted to board the train he
was "collared" by Mr. Bauer, who then swore out a warrent for his arrest.
Lalbeech's hearing was postponed until Monday, when he plead guilty to the charge and was
given the jail sentence. |
