OLD SETTLER IN
FATAL ACCIDENT
PATRICK MURRAY RECEIVES INJURES
FROM AUTOMOBILE WHICH CAUSE HIS DEATH
Patrick Murray, aged 75
years, and for over fifty years a resident of town Eden, was fatally injured when he was
struck by an automobile in Milwaukee Sunday afternoon.
The accident occured at four o'clock and he was struck while walking along
the Janesville plant road near Milwaukee. He was found lying beside the road by another
automobile party a few minutes later, and was removed to a nearby saloon where medical aid
was rendered and he was then taken to the home of his niece, Mrs. Frank Rourk, where he
died Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Death was caused by a fracture of the skull and
internal injuries.
The remains were brought here over the Northwestern railroad Wednesday noon,
and were taken from the depot direct to St. Matthew's Catholic church where funeral
services were conducted by Rev. Father July, interment took place in the Union cemetery.
The following friends and former neighbors of the deceased acted as
pallbearers:
T. L. Johnson, William Katen, John A. Hendricks, James E. Ward, John Killilea
and George H. Flood.
Mr. Murray is survived by a brother, Frank J. Murray of South Eden, nine
nieces, Mrs. Frank Scott, Mrs. Henry Salinger, Mrs. J. Froehlich, Miss M. Clarey, Mrs.
Frank Rourk, Estelle and Belle Rourk all of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Margaret Sullivan of St.
Paul; and two nephews, John and Thomas O'Rourk of Milwaukee. |
