DEATH OF MRS. ROMAINE

  Mrs. Elvira Romaine, wife of Charles Romaine, died at her home at 289 Ninth Street, Fond du Lac, Sunday morning at 12:10, after an illness of about a years duration from cancer.
   Elvira A. Durfey was born in Washington county, April 7, 1868. When a small child she moved with her parents to Minnesota and later to Waucousta, Mich., where she remained for a number of years. She then came to New Prospect, where she made her home until last week, when Mr. Romaine sold his farm and they went to Fond du Lac to reside.
   On February 18th, 1885, the deceased was married to Charles Romaine at the Methodist Parsonage in this village, by Elder Knight. They returned to New Prospect and lived on their farm until last week, when they moved to Fond du Lac. Besides her husband, one son Burr and daughter Sadie Romaine, both residing at home, are left to mourn. A sister and a brother also survive her.
   The funeral was held from the residence at 12 o'clock Tuesday noon and by auto to the Methodist church here, Rev. W. J. Carr of Juneau conducting the services. Interment took place in the New Prospect cemetery.
   The pallbearers were Walter, Ben, Ralph and Gerrard Romaine and Wm. and Earl Henning.
