TRIPLE WEDDING CELEBRATION
Over three hundred relatives and
friends were entertained at L. Rafenstein's hall in the village of Ashford last Thursday
evening, November 27th, in honor of the silver wedding anniversaries of Mr. and Mrs.
Barthol W. Jaeger, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zohren and Mr. and Mrs. John Zehren, all residing in
the town of Ashford. Dancing was enjoyed by old and young until thew wee hours of the
morning, to the music of the Liberty orchestra of Campbellsport, who kept the merry-makers
going at a lively clip. At midnight supper was served.
Twenty-fove years ago the three couples were married at the St. Martin's
church in Ashford, by Rev. Father Bernard Nuttmann. Since that time they have all resided
on farms in that town and attended St. Martin's church, being members of the congregation.
During the day each couple entertained seperately at their respective homes,
where a Thanksgiving supper was served to their numerous friends. Those who assisted in
serving at the Jaeger home were the Misses Irene Berg, Martha Campbell, Johanna Schill,
Rosina Schill, Irene Ullrich, Edwina Yankow, FRances Hall and Leona Jaeger. Two hundred
and thirty people partaking of supper at their residence. The house and tables were
attractively decorated in silver and white. The three couples attended mass in the
forenood at the same church where they had taken their marriage vows twenty-five years
before, and the remainder of the day was spent in a reception at their homes. The worthy
couples were the recipients of many beautiful and valuable presents of silver and cut
glass.
It was an occasion that brought joy and pleasure to nearly every home in town
Ashford and all joined heartily in wishing much joy and happiness to the couple, who have
gained the respect and esteem of a host of people in this vicinity. It is the sincere wish
of their many friends that they may remain with them and enjoy blessings and prosperity as
in the past.
