  1. John Schuster (born June 21, 1821) and Anna Marie Gruber Schuster (born August 28, 1824) emigrated from Baveria apparently between 1850 and 1853. They settled in the Town of Barton in Washington County, Wisconsin, and began farming. Their first son, John, was born in Barton January 7, 1854. Their second son, Anton, was born one or two years later in 1855 or 1856. Son Peter was born in 1858. Son Joseph was born in 1864. And son Philip was born in 1867. John and Anna Marie moved with sons John and Peter to the town of Rock in Wood County in 1877. Following the death of their oldest son John in 1907, they apparently returned to Barton to live with son Joseph and his wife Elizabeth (born 1866). Father John died in 1914, and his wife Anna Marie died in 1927. Both are buried with Joseph and his wife in St. Mary's Cemetery in Barton.
  2. John, son of John and Anna Marie, married Barbara Yatsek (born May 19, 1859) in the town of Rock in Wood County and worked as a carpenter.They had sixteen or seventeen children, including six sets of twins. John and Barbara moved to Marshfield in 1891 and lived there until both died (1907 and 1900 respectively).
  3. Anton, son of John and Barbara, was born on March 6, 1885, in the village of Bakerville, the home of his uncle, south of Marshfield. On January 16, 1906, he married Rose Victoria Prust (born January 25, 1889 in the village of Chili, Clark County). Their children included daughter Opel Maurine (April 2, 1907, Chili), Maynard Burton, Eldred Grant (October 2, 1914, Stratford), and Vernon Henry (November 2, 1917, Stratford). Anton became the manager of stores for the Connor Lumber and Land Co. after running one of the Connor lumber camps near Laona, Wisconsin. During the late 1930's and early 1940's he own and with his sons operated the Schuster Hardware at Cecil in Shawano County. Anton died September 10, 1968, in Wausau and is buried at Yolo Cemetery in Chili. Rose died December 24, 1967, and is also buried at Yolo Cemetery.
  4. Maynard, son of Anton and Rose, was born October 11, 1911 in Chili. He attended school in Laona, Wisconsin, attended business college in Wausau, and organized and directed a dance band in the 1930's. During the late 1930's he assisted his father in operating the Schuster Hardware in Cecil. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1942 and served until injured in 1945. He was retired as a 1st Lieutenant in 1945, rejecting a promotion ot the rank of Captain as a result of his injuries. He was married to Hazel Sackett of Kasson, Minnesota on March 1, 1947, and for the next year owned the Schuster Hardware in Green Bay. Son Robert was born June 19,  1948, in Green Bay. The family moved to Fairwater, Fond du Lac County, on September 1, 1948 and lived there until 1962. Two daughters, Patrice Ann and Pamela Jean were born March 19, 1951, and January 3, 1954, respectively. The family moved to Madison in September, 1962. Maynard Schuster died on November 20, 1988, and is buried at Highland Memory Garden in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.

  1. Johan Schuster and Junigunde Sauer Schuster emigrated from Bavaria around 1856 and settled  in Germantown Township, Washington County, Wisconsin. They appear to have been related to Leonhard and Margaret Schuster, also of Germantown. Johan and Kunigunde may have emigrated from Kuhbach in Bavaria. Their children, born in Wisconsin, included John and Margaret (married to Fred Goerke of Goerke's Corner, Waukesha County.
