EX-ALDERMAN JOHN SCHUSTER DIES AT HOSPITAL
Ex-alderman John Schuster, who has been a resident of Marshfield the past 16 years, died at St. Joseph's hospital Tuesday of Tuberculosis of the bowels. The funeral will take place today at 9:30 from St. John's Catholic church and will be in charge of the local order of Catholic Knights of which he was a member. Deceased leaves a wife and family of nine children, the youngest of whom is seven years. In addition to these he leaves an aged father and mother whose combined ages are 166 years, besides four brothers scattered throughout the state, Peter Schuster, residing at Bakerville. Deceased was born at Barton, a little village near Milwaukee, Jan 7th, 1844 [1853], and with his parents settled in the town of Rock, this county, 30 years ago. After a residence of 14 years they moved to this city, where Mr. Schuster was elected alderman from the First ward, and always took an active interest in the affairs of the city. The sickness which terminated his life began a year ago. [The Marshfield News, June 27, 1907]
