As I visit the "focus" communities for this expedition into the heart of the middle west, I will of course need a place to stay in each community. I couldn't possibly afford to pay for motel accommodations on all of these visits.

I'm expecting to be in each community two or three times per year for a week or two at a time over the course of the next five years. On many occasions I will be alone; sometimes my wife will accompany me.

All I will need for accommodations is a place to sleep and a place to sit and write up my notes. During warmer weather, perhaps all I will need is a backyard in which to pitch my tent.

The "focus" towns are: Eaton, Ohio; Fowler, Indiana; L'Anse, Michigan; Ripon, Wisconsin (I don't need accommodations in Ripon); Vandalia, Illinois; Maysville, Missouri (I have accommodations in Maysville!); Emmetsburg, Iowa; Alexandria, Minnesota; Rugby, North Dakota; Redfield, South Dakota; West Point, Nebraska; and Smith Center, Kansas.
