WURNTF Minutes
November 15, 2001
I. Roll Call
Members Present: Mary Thompson, Judy Scheehle, Sue Schlueter,
Joe DeRose, Shawn Graff, Bob Schuster, Ruby West Jackson, James Hill,
and Mark Weaver
II. Minutes
Sue Schlueter moved for approval of the agenda and Bob Schuster
seconded. Motion passed.
Sue Schlueter moved for approval of the minutes of September
10, 2001 and Bob Schuster seconded. Motion passed.
Mark Weaver gave a database update. He contacted Jennie Regan-Dinius
from Indiana about setting up an Access program; it should be operational
by the first of the year. Joe DeRose will prepare a disclaimer for Bob
Schuster to put on our website. Database will only have two classifications
for properties: verified and unverified. Other fields need to be defined.
James Hill will send us a list of fields used by the National Park Service
and Ohio. Milton House staff will maintain the database and Mary Thompson
will enter the data.
Ruby West Jackson attended the Network to Freedom conference
in Michigan. She reported that she made many connections with people with
similar goals. The tours were good. James Hill attended the conference
in Ohio. It consisted of presentations and tours and was a good networking
opportunity.
Bob Schuster asked for input on the Wisconsin Underground
Railroad Network to Freedom web site. The contact person on the site was
changed from Joe DeRose to Milton House staff.
Next meeting of the WURNTF will be on January 16, 2001 at
10:00 a.m. in the Sellery Room of the Wisconsin Historical Society, 816
State, St. Madison, WI.
Meeting adjourned at noon.
